Some events are worth showing up for — not because of what's in it for you, but because they mean something to the community you're part of. Salute to America 250 is one of those events, and we're honored to be a sponsor.
Hosted by Rock Falls Tourism, Salute to America 250 is a free, two-day celebration taking place June 13–14, 2026, at RB&W District Park (201 E. 2nd Street, Rock Falls, IL). The event marks America's 250th anniversary with living history demonstrations, patriotic music, Civil War reenactments, ceremonial traditions, and activities for the whole family — all completely free to attend.
What to Expect
Saturday, June 13 (9:30 AM – 8:30 PM) brings the event to life with Civil War artillery demonstrations from Taylors Battery – 1st Illinois Light Artillery Co. B, a field hospital exhibit from the Surgeon for the 108th Illinois Infantry, a public reading of the Declaration of Independence, and a chance to meet President Abraham Lincoln himself. Live music rounds out the day.
Sunday, June 14 (1:30 – 4:00 PM) takes on a more ceremonial tone, with a Posting of Colors by the Rock Falls American Legion Post 902, the National Anthem, a concert by the 144th Army Band, and an Ice Cream Social featuring local organizations from across the community.
Why We're Proud to Be Here
The Rock Falls and Sterling area is home to two of our dealerships — Kunes CDJR of Sterling and Kunes Ford of Sterling — and the people who walk through our doors are the same people who make events like this possible. Sponsoring Salute to America 250 is one small way we can give back to a community that has meant so much to us.
America's 250th birthday only happens once. We hope you'll be there to celebrate it.
